Affordable, Reliable, Customized Dentistry
Dr. Nguyen and our team want you to enjoy your dental appointments!
While we have designed our office with physical comforts to make you feel right at home, we believe that your mental comfort is important, as well. Understanding what to expect will help you relax and have peace of mind during your time with us.
Here’s what will happen on your first visit.
Your First Visit
When you enter Delicate Dental Arts, expect a warm welcome. Enjoy some refreshments as you complete your paperwork. If you have any questions, our front office team will be happy to answer them.
After registration, our dental assistant will escort you to a treatment room, take digital x-rays, and review your health and dental history.
Dr. Nguyen will then introduce herself and talk with you for a few moments before conducting a thorough exam of your mouth, jaws, neck, and head. She’ll also look for signs of oral cancer with our ViziLite early detection system. Dr. Nguyen will want to know if you are experiencing problems or pain. If you snore or have frequent headaches, be sure to tell her!
Dr. Nguyen will review her findings with you and discuss any areas of concern. You’ll have the opportunity to review intraoral images and x-rays with the dentist so that she can answer your questions. She’ll propose treatment options and may show you videos about the procedures so you can better understand what they entail.
If you do not have gum disease, you’ll meet with our hygienist for a dental cleaning. The hygienist can also show you how to improve your home care routine with simple brushing and flossing techniques. If you have questions about the products you use at home, the hygienist will be happy to answer them.
Before you leave our Encinitas dental office, we’ll schedule your next visit.
If your treatment plan calls for restorative or cosmetic dentistry or you are going to have teeth replaced, your next visit(s) will involve completing the procedures according to the timeframe you and Dr. Nguyen have discussed.
If you suffer with anxiety, stress, or dental phobia, consider sedation dentistry to ease your fears. Our headphones along with a variety of movie selections will also make your treatment time more enjoyable.
Once your mouth is in great shape, you’ll return for semi-annual check-ups and cleanings. These visits will allow us to maintain your healthy, brilliant smile so you can enjoy it for the rest of your life!
