General & Preventive Dentistry

Just like the foundation of your home needs to be strong and in good repair, the health of your gums, jawbone, and teeth must be good if you want your teeth to last a lifetime.

Check-ups and cleanings are important appointments you should never miss.

Taking care of your teeth and gums requires a daily commitment to oral hygiene, as well as following through with proposed dental treatments as quickly as possible. Problems such as gum disease, tooth decay, and cracked teeth will escalate if left untreated.

Dr. Nguyen and our team will do everything within our power to make preventive and general dental care convenient and comfortable for your family.

Routine Cleanings

A professional cleaning is needed at least every six months to help keep your teeth free of plaque and tartar. When plaque and tartar are allowed to build up, the results are decay and gum disease.

Our skilled dental hygienists will carefully assess your teeth and gums and remove the build-up gently yet thoroughly. If any concerns are noticed, your hygienist will notify Dr. Nguyen right away.

Regular Examinations

Your examination is an opportunity to sit down with Dr. Nguyen and discuss the current health of your teeth and gums. Dental problems typically start small, and it’s easy to miss the first signs of decay, gum disease, and other problems. Unfortunately, if not identified early, these problems become bigger and painful and eventually require more complex treatment to resolve.

During your check-up, Dr. Nguyen will use visual and tactile exams as well as digital imaging to seek out any developing problems so you can be well-informed and plan treatment if necessary.

Preventive Solutions

Prevention includes more than exams and cleanings! Proactive treatments make it easier to avoid cavities and emergencies.

To prevent injury, Dr. Nguyen recommends wearing athletic mouthguards during sporting activities. She also offers dental sealants and fluoride supplements to ward off tooth decay in children.

Periodontal (Gum) Disease

If you have gum disease, our hygienist will create a periodontal therapy plan to return your gums to good health. This may include adding an antimicrobial product to your routine, more frequent cleanings, or more specialized cleanings.

Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss for American adults, and it is linked to heart attack, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, and other serious health conditions. Treating the condition early could save you from a host of problems in the future.
